Global Indian Cultural Centre was set up to preserve for posterity the tradition of Indian art and culture. The Centre teachings closely follow those of Mahatma Gandhi. In the light of this philosophy, the Global Indian Cultural Centre is a secular, non-political organisation open to all regardless off race, creed or sexual orientation. We have a fully articulated equal opportunities policy.
What the GLOBAL INDIAN CULTURAL CENTRE offers -
CLASSES - Short term courses (Open class), 3 year diploma and 5 year advance diploma classes are offered in Indian & Foreign languages, Music, Dance, Drama, Philosophy, Meditation, Art & Craft and Yoga.
ACTIVITIES - Each year, the centre in association with the Global Indian International School, organises celebrations of major Indian festivals. There are regular performances, workshops, lecture demonstrations, concerts and exhibitions by artistes of national and international standing.
FACILITIES - The centre has several Studios which can be hired by non-profit organisations or associations for lecture demonstrations, performances, concerts and workshops.
BOOK & MUSIC SHOP - The GICC bookshop sells a wide variety of books, records, cassettes and CDs, and will sell musical instruments such as sitar, tabla, harmonium etc. in the future.
LIBRARY - The Centre reference library contains hundreds of books in English and Indian languages about Indian art, culture, philosophy and religion.
