The Mahatma Gandhi Global Indian Eklavya School is a tribal school situated in Western India's tribal area at Tilakwada, about 65 km from Baroda, India. The school was a result of a suggestion given personally by Dr. AAPJ Abdul Kalam, requesting GIF to do undertake education in the remotest part of India.
The Late Dr. LM SInghvi (Founding President of GIF), Prof. MGK Menon (Present President of GIF) and Justice C S Dharmadhikari (Vice President of the GIF) decided to take the Tilakwada tribal school as a concept to bring in education excellence to the tribal students.
The school is a joint initiative of the Singapore based Global Indian Foundation and Government of Gujarat. The school is fully funded by the state & central government.
