  Career Counselling & Guidance

As students progress through the school, they increasingly seek and value the advice of their teachers. This help will be forthcoming on numerous occasions and in a variety of forms, but it is when faced with the choice of undergraduate courses and the career path that a student will most need the wisdom, guidance and personal concern of our staff. To address this need, GIIS has setup Careers Centre at each of its campus.

Careers Forum – a forum of discussion for students expects the students to take part in career related deliberations from Standard 8 onward and through the rest of their stay at school. Expert psychometric analysts will help students identify their aptitude before the latter are asked to choose the subjects of study at the post- secondary stage.

Experienced Career Counselor are available on hand to help students make informed educational and career choices. Students, along with their parents, are informed of undergraduate study opportunities, costs, financial aid, scholarships and other related topics, at universities in Malaysia, Singapore, India, U.S.A., U.K., Australia as well as many other countries. Students may browse through the hundreds of university brochures that will be made available at the Careers Centre.

Admission Committee members from prestigious overseas universities visit our school to discuss their admission requirements, subject offerings, co-curricular opportunities, and campus life. Students are encouraged to discuss their career preferences with the counselor, so that they may be guided individually.

Parents seek an appointment with the counselor to discuss matters related to their child's undergraduate studies. Students receive guidance on admission requirements, university expectations and various entrance tests. The counselor then explores and evaluate students' grades and academic interests, individually assisting them in their quest to make the right decision about selecting the ideal course and university.
