Q1. Is this a private or public listed venture?

A. The Global Indian Foundation is neither private nor public enterprise, it is a non-profit body registered as Charities and Foundation in the Republic of Singapore.


Q2. Why was the Global Indian Foundation started in Singapore?

A. The GIF was an answer to provide high quality and culturally relevant education to citizens and Indian Diaspora across Asia.


Q3. Who started this foundation?

A. The foundation was co-founded by Late Dr. LM Singhvi, Justice Chandrashekhar Dharmadhikari, Atul Temurnikar, Chandu Borde and Shailesh Temurnikar.


Q4. How are the GIIS schools non-profit?

A. The Global Indian Foundation is a non-profit body, and is not driven by profit motives or bottomline targets. The school fees are defined such that it sets enable the schools to recover its expenses.


Q5. Are the Global Indian Cultural centers open to Public?

A. Yes. Members of public are most welcome to the Cultural centres, which are mostly present in countries across Asia Pacific. In Singapore’s cultural centre, some 200 singaporean nationals learn yoga every month.


Q6. What is the role of Mahatma Gandhi centres?

A. The Mahatma Gandhi centres aim to spread the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi to our young students. The centres also teach Gandhian values.


Q7. What is the role of Global Centre for Education Excellence?

A. The Centre for Education Excellence draws on the excellence models in education and aims to raise the excellence standards at GIIS.


Q8. Is the Mahatma Gandhi Global Indian Eklavya Tribal School funded by Government?
