KINDERGARTEN 2 – ADMISSION INTERACTION CRITERIA – (2012-2013)

Note to parents:

The admission interaction is a congenial meeting between the teacher and pupil seeking admission. The teacher will evaluate the child with regard to the knowledge of the following concepts and skills. In case the pupil comes from a school background where the below concepts are not yet covered, you may inform the teacher of this during the interaction session.

Time: 30 minutes

Language:

• Recognition of letters of the English alphabet - Upper case or/and lower case
• Writing letters of the English alphabet - Upper case or/and lower case
• Phonics - spelling and reading – monosyllabic words
• Listening and responding to simple questions about oneself
• Describing a picture shown to the pupil

Mathematics:

• Counting up to 10
• Writing numerals up to 10

Fine Motor Skills:

• Coloring within the given shapes
