  Message from CEO

Maneesh Tripathi This message comes to you in the middle of some very exciting happenings which we have been witnessing as a Global Indian family in the last 21 days. On 27 Aug, we witnessed H.E. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam regale our students and teachers and the audience as a “primary school teacher” in his inimitable style. What can I say! I saw hordes of people moved to tears as they heard him speak!

Now having to look after an organisation which spans across 7 countries makes me meet the top talent in the education world who are trained in the best ethics and professionalism. I was unsure about whether moving to a social cause was the right decision and on that day, sitting amongst the audience, when I heard Dr Kalam make us all take an “oath”, I knew my decision was 100% correct.

As an outsider, I had keenly observed the tremendous passion of the Global Indian Team. I had always wondered what drives them on (I was naive then as I sit in my office and think about it now). I had observed the late hours they put in with a smile and I saw the teachers working from home after school hours with great passion.

We coined the “Flip-a-Generation” program where the hearts ruled the minds and even Dr. Kalam made a special note of it. My father, who retired as Vice Chancellor, gave me great strength and support to make this most important decision of my life.

There is so much to do. We have to make the GIIS platform one of the best in the world. We have the talent and intellectual capital to mould some of our students into another great C V Ramanna, maybe one closer to Dr Abdul Kalam, create another P T Usha or even create our own Bill Gates or Mr Narayan Murthy from the GIIS family. We have the gems right here and we have the where with all to polish them now.

The core management team and the Principals have given me full support to roll out the following programs which will be our top priority in the next 6-12 months
  • Implement the Malcolm Baldrige model to improve quality in all our Schools and create a unique bench mark in the School education system
  • Create and implement standard policies across the whole foundation, hence create harmony within all GIIS eco systems
  • Ensure that GIF/ GIIS complies with all Singapore and other country specific regulations and laws
  • Assist the Principals, teachers, and our support/ management staff and all stake holders in solving all operational issues as we grow from here
  • Have a sustained growth plan which will not over stretch GIF, yet also accomplish the vision of our Governing Board.
I want to invite each one of you parents, to come forward and participate in professional workshops for our students where you can share information about your profession. These workshops would increase our students knowledge and exposure to various industries and businesses.

Last but not the least, I will strive to make all this enjoyable and see that we, the GIIS team and the Global Indian parents, continue to work as ONE GIIS family.
