This contest aspires to recognise and encourage good singers among students. The competition that runs for several weeks is intense and rigorous, where the best compete with the best on a single platform! Through this the school is not only able to identify students who have an inclination towards and talent for singing, but it also inspires these budding talents to keep their passions alive through proper training in school. 

Global Indian Stars is Singapore’s leading singing talent hunt and seeks to identify the best of the best talent among youth in Singapore!

The competition, which is open to all singing talents in Singapore, brings on stage talented performers from all over the island showcasing their singing prowess in various genres from semi-classical songs to Bollywood’s latest numbers in any language of their choice!

It brings on stage versatile and talented performers with a wide range of capabilities from semi classical and devotional songs to children’s songs and ghazals.  The Global Indian Stars identifies budding talent, offers them a platform to showcase their skills and brings together singing sensations from all over Singapore, inculcating a feeling of musical unity in them. For the young singers, it is a chance to test their musical prowess and gain confidence for further learning.

At the Global Indian Stars,  students compete in three different categories:
Sub Junior: Age group: 6 to 8 years (as on 1st April, of that year)
Junior: Age group: 9 to 12 years (as on 1st April of that year)
Senior: Age group 13 to 17 years (as on 1st April of that year)

Judging criteria

  1. A panel of three music teachers (one from each campus ) judge the auditions of external participants
  2. A panel of three external judges is appointed for all the three rounds of Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals. 
  3. One special guest is invited to join the panel for the Finals.
  4. The criteria of judgment are be based on rhythm, voice modulation, tone, voice quality and   overall presentation.
  5. The selection of the participant is based on overall scoring of marks. The marks given by each judge is totaled, and the highest scoring participants are selected for the next round.
