With the vision of providing quality international education to the citizens of the world, Mr Atul Temurnikar cofounded the Singapore-based Global Schools Foundation (GSF) in September 2002. He serves as a founding Trustee and Executive Chairman of the Foundation overseeing its worldwide operations.

The foundation is focussed on providing high quality K12 education through its schools around the world. As of Jan 2012, the foundation has an international network of 22 schools in 8 countries established during the past 9 years.

The schools are in Singapore, Japan, UAE, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and India and established under multiple brands like Global School of Silicon Valley, Global Sevilla International School, Global Indian International School and Global Montessori.

The Global Schools have established a strong track record of education excellence and quality and over last 5 years, won 14 (fourteen) international and national awards in School Education Excellence from national excellence rating agencies such as SPRING of Republic of Singapore, and have won the Global Performance Excellence awards from Asia Pacific Quality Organisation (APQO), MPC Prime Minister of Malaysia award for education excellence & the IMC National Awards in India.

The Global Schools 9 (nine) GEMS model has emerged as the award winning formula of the Global Schools which has seen Global Schools produce the best academic results with 2 worldwide International Baccalaureate toppers and 1 student with world ranked 5 in CBSE worldwide from GIIS Singapore. Global Schools have a strong multicultural student body comprising of 52 nationalities.

Under Mr Temurnikar’s leadership, GSF has pioneered and embarked upon community welfare initiatives, such as educating the tribal students in state of Gujarat, where 240 girls and boys from tribal areas are given excellent education under the Mahatma Gandhi Global Indian Eklavya Tribal School project.

Mr Temurnikar’s efforts in social services in Singapore for the underpriviledged were recognised with a special appreciation award in 2006 by the Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong.

In addition to the GSF responsibility, Mr Temurnikar serves on the National Integration committee setup by Government of Singapore, under the subgroup committee for Education. The NIC is chaired by a Minister and has 3 other Ministers alongwith heads of Universities & Media.

Mr Temurnikar also serves as the founding Executive Council member of the India Business Network of Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA), a welfare organisation established by the Government of Singapore.

In Sept 2011, Mr Temurnikar’s recommended changes in Foreign Direct Investment rules & policies for Education sector in India, were announced & implemented by the Government of India.
